Depending on how you use the service, we may process:

• Vehicle registration numbers you submit for MOT history checks
• Optional email address if you ask us to email a report or capture a lead on a report page
• Check inputs such as asking price, your value estimate, or seller notes when you provide them
• Technical data including IP address (stored in hashed form), browser type, and timestamps for security and abuse prevention
• Account details if you register or sign in (name, email, authentication identifiers)
• Payment metadata from Stripe when you buy credit packs (we do not store full card numbers)
• Cookie and local storage choices (see our cookie policy)

We process personal data for the following purposes under UK GDPR:

• Providing MOT history checks and reports (contract / steps at your request)
• Credit packs, free daily limits, and fraud prevention (legitimate interests and contract)
• Security, rate limiting, and abuse detection (legitimate interests)
• Optional marketing email where you have given consent
• Analytics and referral measurement where you accept non-essential cookies (consent)
• Legal and accounting obligations where required (legal obligation)

We may share data with service providers that help us run the site, including:

• DVSA and DVLA APIs to retrieve official vehicle and MOT data (registration sent as required for the lookup)
• Hosting and infrastructure providers
• Stripe for payment processing
• Email delivery providers if you request report email
• Affiliate and partner networks when you click sponsored offers (subject to their policies)

We do not sell your personal data.

MOT reports and lookup logs are retained for as long as needed to operate the service, show your recent checks, enforce credit limits, and maintain audit trails. Hashed IP identifiers are used for wallet and abuse controls rather than storing raw IPs in analytics tables where possible.

You may request deletion subject to exceptions (for example ongoing disputes, legal retention, or technical logs we must keep briefly for security).

Under UK data protection law you may have the right to:

• Rectify inaccurate data
• Erase data in certain circumstances
• Restrict or object to processing in certain circumstances

Credit purchases are also subject to our terms and conditions (including 12-month credit validity and non-refundable unused credits).
